A girl’s poem of Abdu’l-Baha
A 10 year old girl from Mildura in Victoria, has been studying the life of Abdu’l-Baha over this past year by reading stories about His childhood, life in prison and travels to Europe and US after He acquired His freedom.
In the past 6 months she has started writing poems. One weekend in mid September, whilst she was getting a haircut—an activity she finds very boring since and is required to sit still—she suddenly thought she could utilize her new ability of writing poems during such a boring time.
The photo is of the young author at age 7 walking up the terraces to the Shrine of the Bab—one of several Baha’i Holy places in Haifa. Abdu’l-Baha has also been laid to rest here, until the completion of His Shrine.
Abdu’l-Baha
Abdu’l-Baha
Son of Baha’u’llah
In His life
Would always strive
For Unity
His childhood was very difficult
He was exiled as a result
Of His Father’s Faith
He was exiled to many countries
And cities
And everywhere He went He taught the Faith
He taught
The Baha’i Faith to everyone He met
Even when He was in prison for most of His life
And in His late life He would travel
To different parts of the world and many would marvel
Until one day He left to join His Father in the Abha Kingdom
