Neighbourhood play
Four households in a neighbourhood in South Hobart, Tasmania, came together to do a dramatic play reading of “Drama of the Kingdom,” as a creative and unique tribute to Abdu’l-Baha. The outline of this play was given to an English female playwright in 1913 during Abdu’l-Baha’s travel to the west. An act in the play features a dialogue between two students, one from the East and one from the West, perfectly capturing the coming together of diverse cultures and communities as envisioned by Abdu’l-Baha.
Most of the readers had little experience in the dramatic arts but were motivated by the message of the play and the humour and wit of Abdu’l-Baha.
