A Letter to a Handmaiden

During His lifetime, ‘Abdu'l-Baha wrote numerous letters to people from all walks of life, high and low, from differing racial and religious backgrounds, as well as to devoted Baha'i's including many who wrote to Him specifically seeking solace and guidance. In His letters, Abdu'l-Baha offered comfort in times of sorrow, encouraged them to serve humanity, aided them to rise above the limitations of material existence, and raised their spiritual consciousness. His service to humanity with no thought of self is a source of inspiration to all.

This work was itself inspired by a dream one of the artists had in which they saw Abdu’l-Baha speaking about the letters He was writing. It was recorded live in Perth and the music was improvised while the letter was being read out loud.
