Comforter of the Sun of Baha
An individual in Melbourne, as part of their efforts to commemorate the centenary year of the Ascension of Abdu’l-Baha, pledged to read more of the writings of Abdu’l-Baha and share stories of His life with their friends, particularly during the the period of time where public health restrictions required people to remain in their homes. While reflecting deeply on the life and stories of Abdu’l-Baha, they wrote a poem to try to express how they might feel in His presence; what words can describe the love and emotion of that moment?
Entitled “Ey Mounese Shamse Baha” (O Thou Comforter of the Sun of Baha), which is one of the titles of Abdu’l-Baha, the poem has two parts. The first part talks about how one would feel like a tiny drop in the ocean of His love, when in His presence; while the second part of the poem speaks to the sacrifices of the many early believers of the Baha’i Faith, many who sacrificed their lives during the ministry of Abdu’l-Baha. The poem also recalls the many titles of Abdu’l-Baha and the many sacrifices He made during His life as the Centre of the Covenant. Towards the end of the poem the author asks for His aid to make us steadfast in our path of service towards humanity.
