Calligraphy

As a tribute to Abdu’l-Baha and this special time, a man in New South Wales wrote some of Abdu’l-Baha’s Writings, and poems about Abdu’l-Baha, in Persian and Arabic calligraphy.

This calligraphy translates to: “O, Abdu’l-Baha! Hold my hand”, which is from a well-known Persian poem and song about Abdu’l-Baha and Him for guidance. In this image are also the calligraphy pens used.

The above reads “Abdu’l-Baha, Mystery of God” in a modern style of Persian calligraphy called Mo’alla.

The passage above is an excerpt from a special Tablet (the Tablet of Visitation) revealed by Abdu’l-Baha, which is read at His Shrine, and also in private prayer. The authorised translation is:

Lord! Give me to drink from the chalice of selflessness; with its robe clothe me, and in its ocean immerse me. Make me as dust in the pathway of Thy loved ones, and grant that I may offer up my soul for the earth ennobled by the footsteps of Thy chosen ones in Thy path, O Lord of Glory in the Highest.
